Feast your eyes on some stunning portrait shots of Elvis in his prime, including some of his earliest promotional stills; not only was the man blessed with a god-given  voice and musical talent, but he had looks the camera loved/devoured!

LONG-AGO LONDON

London-Koda

Take a glance at these wonderful images from a  1950’s London, long since past; Route-Master buses and the dependable British ‘Bobby’, ahhh, those were the days!  They say that a man who has grown tired of London has grown tired of life – never a truer word was said, in my experience….

Generations of American children will be familiar with the 1955 Honor book ‘The Thanksgiving Story’, by Alice Dalgliesh. It tells the story of the Hopkins family and their journey from Southampton Harbor in England aboard the  Mayflower  to the new Plymouth Colony settlement in North America and ultimately their first thanksgiving dinner with the local Native Americans. This book  won its artist  – Helen Sewell – a 1955 Caldecott Honor for her charming and stylish illustrations (she also illustrated the early editions of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s ‘Little House On The Prairie’ series) which is what we celebrate here!
