A stunning photographic tribute to the amazing actress/model Lauren Bacall (September 16, 1924-August 12, 2014) whose unforgettable debut as “Slim” in the 1944 movie ‘To Have & Have Not’ alongside future husband Humphrey Bogart made her an icon of Film Noire overnight. It was  in this movie that she created her own personal screen-trademark/signature which became known as  “The Look”, an effect where she pressed her chin against her chest and facing the camera, tilted her eyes upward (ironically this was a move originally designed to steady her nerves and to minimise her quivering on-camera).As “Slim” Lauren delivers (in the huskiest of tones) one of the cinema’s most memorable lines to Bogart’s character “Steve”: SLIM: “You know you don’t have to act with me, Steve. You don’t have to say anything, and you don’t have to do anything. Not a thing. Oh, maybe just whistle. You know how to whistle, don’t you, Steve? You just put your lips together and… blow.” Ms. Bacall will be much-missed, but her star will continue to burn brightly in the firmament of Hollywood movie stars…
