His full name was Rodolfo Alfonso Raffaello Pierre Filibert Gugliemi di Valentina d’Antonguolla, but to the movie-going public of the 192os, he was better known as  Rudolph Valentino ,  the silent-screen romantic hero aka “The Latin Lover’.He starred in such silent-screen classics  as ‘The Shiek’, ‘The Four Horsemen Of The Apocolypse’, ‘Blood & Sand’, ‘The Eagle’ and ‘Son Of The Shiek’.Every generation has their own icons/heroes and this man in his day was as big as any.Shortly before he died at the age of 31, he had applied for American citizenship; his untimely passing not only caused  mass-hysteria amongst his female fans, but was also the catalyst for his lofty elevation to iconic status and enduring legend of the cinema, the world over.
